I started out in life on a Nebraska farm in the Sandhills and now make my home as a creative entrepreneur in Nashville, Tennessee. Since I have been known to color outside the lines all my life, it was not surprising that I found myself pulled toward mixed media when I found my painter’s voice.

Rarely do I step into my art studio with a vision of what’s going to surface on my canvas. I am always surprised and often intrigued at what shows up when I paint with words, a song or emotion in mind. I find inspiration in texture, layers, handmade paper and original marks on canvas. I’ve even been known to collage sea shells, straw bales, fabric, and old guitars into my works of art. At Candy Country, it’s all about play.
